Reviews

4.7
Students give MasterClass an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Compared to a lot of the other Masterclasses, this is the best one so far. Some of the other classes have a lot of "fluff," but because this one is structured with a case study it's a lot more applicable.

Lot of enthusiasm and motivation, plus valuable technical knowledge about tools to use, and tools not to use

Simply amazing! I have been mind-blown by all the concepts discussed, which I could have never figured out for myself. And Armin is a great teacher!

I learned that when making mashups or a less than ideal transition between songs, reverb is a good tool to smooth out most imperfections. I also learned about the basics of arrangement in creating a song.

Could you provide the name of the company or site to hire the service for the vocal sampling/recording that Armin used?

Here is my first ever track I produced a couple of years ago (hardware drum machines and synths as well as a vst) where I incorporated my voice into it (just a snip-it for feeling) through my Razer headset microphone right as it goes into the break (eqing was kind of a nightmare do to static etc). Any constructive criticism is welcomed :). https://soundcloud.com/cosmicbutterfly34/lost-horizon-am-remix

what are some good online companies to use for the vocal readings as seen in this video ?

Armin talks about sampling vocals and the legality of that, but what about sampling kicks? I see tons of producers doing this, and I myself often do this. Is that something I should be getting permission for also? Thanks!

Best lyrical magic in a trance tune I still remember to this day is DJ Taucher's "Science Fiction". The mix of that track on Logic Trance 4 is epic!

I have tried effects like this, but with Drums. I will put loops through a vocoder and just go nuts. Try it out You will find some really interesting textures you can use.

Hi, I am working with Ableton. Is there a plugin or a way with Abletons simpler to do the same voice/synth transitions Armin did with the Alchemy in Logic?

David A R.

reminds me of 'Great Spirit' how cool is that mix of lyric, beat and sound textures :)

Waw, I didn't know that you could put samples into the Alchemy synth. I've tried something and it sounds awesome,, a bit like Skrillex' first hit.
