Hans Zimmer

Teaches Film Scoring

Tell a story with music

Hans Zimmer didn’t see a film until he was 12 years old. Since then, he’s scored over 150 films, including Inception, The Lion King, and The Dark Knight. In his MasterClass, the self-taught Academy Award winner teaches how he creates sounds from nothing, composes compelling character themes, and scores a movie before ever seeing it. By the end, you’ll have everything you need to tell your story.

Hans Zimmer takes you on a journey through story, character and theme, exploring how these elements influence and inform a unique approach to film scoring.

Richard Warpis a composer from Oakland, CA. He was recently the Unity Audio Lead for the Sundance 2017 VR film "Asteroids!"

The process he takes transforms the art from simple notations and measures into a romantic conversation between Zimmer and the audience.

J.M. Smithis a Gospel singer/songwriter from New York, NY. He is a student in Hans Zimmer's MasterClass.

As a composer and recording engineer, Hans' class was superb! Nowhere else can one get an inside look at one of this generation's greatest composers for film music.

Chris Haymanis a musician in California. He is a student in Hans Zimmer's MasterClass.

This was lovely experience, inspiring and full. It's not about what you learn, because I just start learning the right way now. Thanks for your efforts

Ayham Ammaris a musician in Dubai. He is a student in Hans Zimmer's MasterClass.

Without the correct attitude there really isn't much altitude. My approach to music and story telling really has been torn apart and challenged here.
