    Redeeming a Gift

    How to Redeem a Gift
    1. Locate your MasterClass gift email from support@email.masterclass.com in your inbox.
    2. Click Redeem Now in the email. (We recommend using a computer or laptop. If using a mobile device, please open the link in a mobile browser—not the app.)
    3. You’ll be directed to the MasterClass website and prompted to Create an Account. If you already have an account, login with your existing credentials and skip the step below.
    4. Choose your login method—either email and password or social login (Google, Facebook, or Apple).
    5. Click Activate Gift.
    6. You’ll be prompted to add payment information for future renewals. To opt out, tap the ℹ️ button that says, Why do we ask for a credit card, then you can tap on Enter payment information later.
    7. Follow the remaining steps to finish setting up your MasterClass account and preferences.

    🗒️ If you’re already an active MasterClass member, redeeming a gift will extend your current membership by one year—as long as your subscription was not purchased through a third-party payment provider (see below for more information).

    Expiration Dates
    • A free gift that is part of a Buy One, Get One promotion is redeemable within 365 days from the date of purchase.
    • A paid, standalone gift that is purchased outside of a promotion has no expiration, unless otherwise noted in the terms of service.
    • The subscription of the gift recipient will start on the day that they activate the membership and it cannot be paused once it is redeemed.

    Redeeming a Gift and Third-Party Subscriptions (PayPal, Google, Apple, etc.)
    Gifts must be redeemed through the gift email and cannot be activated through third-party app stores.

    If you have an active subscription through a third party (such as PayPal, Google Play, or Apple), your gift cannot be applied to your current membership. To use the gift, you’ll need to:
    1. Cancel the auto-renewal of your third-party subscription.
    2. Wait for your current subscription to expire.
    3. Once expired, return to your gift email and follow the steps above to redeem your gift.

    How to Opt Out of Adding a Credit Card
    Under the credit card entry section, click the i icon next Why do we ask for a credit card? Then select Enter payment information later to proceed without entering a card.

    Troubleshooting Gift Redemption
    If you're having trouble redeeming a gift or preview group gift code, please ensure you're using a supported browser - Chrome, Safari, or Edge - on a computer or mobile browser. 📄 Internet Explorer does not work for code redemption.

    If you're using a mobile browser, make sure to select Desktop Site or a similar option to stay on the web and avoid being redirected to the MasterClass app automatically.
