We live in a unique and wonderful time where electric guitars are things that we can rock on. There's a combination of rhythm, of rock, of feedback, of power, of rhyme, of shredding solos that when it's done right, you feel in it the reptilian DNA of humanity. In this MasterClass, I want to be blown away by what you do. And I can reveal my story. And how I went from a guy who had no idea what he was doing to making sounds and songs that felt that they were very honest to me and pushed boundaries that I didn't even know existed. And I want to try to be a wind in your sails and a steel in your spine as you're trying to go from being a good guitar player to not just being a great guitar player, but being someone who is like a-- like really finds themselves in the instruments. I'd like to teach a class that makes your guitar playing meaningful to you. Whatever it is that you want to do in it. If you want to play exactly like me, well, you're going to figure that out in this MasterClass. If you want to play guitar playing that feels exactly like you, hopefully, we will-- I'll reveal the building blocks of how you can do that to create an authentic, artistic self on the electric guitar that's going to be something that is going to give you a lifetime of awesome rockin'. I'm Tom Morello, and this is my MasterClass.

improving my techniques and style . the rule is there is no rules

Most revealing to me is the fact that Tom Morello only cooks with water himself. He explains his complete process without keeping secrets. Really appreciate his class.

First MC; impressed with format and production value. The video pep talks are nice, Glad there are tabs to play in the workbook. now for the practice.

Good class and I liked the practical parts of learning guitar.

Hello, Can someone tell me where to download the lesson files? all I am able to get is a three-page introduction to the lesson. Thanks

Dave N.

I know his work, but nothing about him, so it was good to learn more. I’m excited to hear about his new stuff, will definitely be checking that out!

Well. I have been always curious about the creative process of Tom. I'm a big follower of RATM. I'm still very motivated with tracks like "Know Your Enemy", "Bulls On Parade", "Renegades of Funk", etc... I expect to find more elements in my guitar playing 'cause I feel a little lack of inspiration. I need to explore new music and more styles. Think this masterclass will help me to improve the relation that I have with my electric guitar while finding more riffs, scales, FX and, the teaching of one of the greatest guitar players that I've seen live, sure will be an injection of inspiration and motivation to keep going in music composing.

I'm gonna play hardcore. So I hope this course will help me to find my own style.

I'm learning acoustic, so I hope this helps, but, I'm sure I'll learn alot either way.

Hey everyone. I'm excited to start this class. I have been playing guitar since I was 15, so over 20 years. I took a few years off from playing after a bad band breakup, just felt no motivation to play anymore. A few months ago I decided to start playing again, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm playing every day again, and am more in love with it now than I have ever been. I am here to learn, to think about new ways to draw out my music. But I'm also here to encourage anyone who is either just starting, or getting back at it like me!

I won't bore you with the long story, but I was literally afraid of this guy's work when I was a kid. His ad and this intro have gotten under my skin. This guy is infectious. And if the comments below are true at all, it's about to get really real. I'm diving in. Thanks in advance, Tom. Wird.

Tom, what an incredible MasterClass. Thank you for being authentic and vulnerable in the pursuit of helping others share their true self through the guitar.

Whats up everybody. I've always loved the guitar, the way it sounds, the way it looks, the music it takes a lead in. I've got a few friends from college who went on to careers in music as guitarists, and I always just hung out and never learned because I thought I wasn't a musical person, at least capable of making music myself. I got myself over that hump, bought a high action Washburn acoustic at a pawn shop (because my buddy had a Washburn) for about $150 and it's the only guitar I've ever had. I never took any lessons, just hacked around and read guitar magazines and learned to hunt and peck my way through tabs. I only learned the acoustic intros to rock and roll songs, I made the same mistakes over and over for years and didn't know how to fix anything. I always knew I'd only get any better if I worked on basics fundamentals of fingering and learning some theory, but every time I tried I just got confused and frustrated. Until my electric arrives, I'm working through all this with my crappy acoustic. I'm watching it through for the third time now, and I can say for sure that this has been the BEST thing for my playing I've ever done.
