[Tom Morello](https://www.masterclass.com/classes/tom-morello-teaches-electric-guitar) is a Grammy Award-winning musician and songwriter best known as the co-founder of Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage. The acclaimed musician was born in Harlem, New York City, to Kenyan diplomat Ngethe Njoroge and schoolteacher/political activist Mary Morello, and raised in Libertyville, Illinois.
