Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Essentials

  1. Nonstick pan (Gordon uses pans made by ScanPan, but any well-made pan with a solid, heavy bottom will work.)
  2. Saucepan
  3. Frying pan with lid
  4. Boning knife (Gordon uses Henckles brand knives, but feel free to research brands and purchase what feels best for you. Remember, Gordon says a small collection of high quality sharp knives is better than drawers full of dull, second-rate ones.)
  5. Paring knife
  6. Bread knife with serrated edge
  7. Sharpening steel
  8. Cutting board (The board Gordon uses is a Boos Block. We recommend any substantial wooden cutting board that is at least 24” x 18” in size and not prone to slipping.)
  9. Microplane grater
  10. Toaster (any 4-slice toaster will do.)
  11. Strainer or sieve
  12. A nice pair of kitchen scissors
  13. Aluminum foil, plastic wrap, parchment paper (An obvious tip, but you should always have these items on hand!)
  14. Finishing salt (Gordon’s favorite is Maldon Salt from the UK.)
