The espresso martini (also known as a ‘vodka espresso’) is a sweet, after-dinner drink with a robust coffee flavor that has been a popular cocktail since the late ’80s, thanks to London bartender Dick Bradsell. While it lacks the classic ingredients of an actual martini (gin and vermouth), there are many ways to make this coffee cocktail recipe, with most versions involving vodka, espresso, and a coffee liqueur.

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce cold espresso coffee
  • ½ ounce coffee liqueur
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • 3 whole coffee beans
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Pour in your ingredients.
  3. Shake well.
  4. Strain into a martini glass or cocktail glass.
  5. Garnish with your coffee beans and serve.
